  • Sounds like you are doing everything right mom, now be patient. He will do it when he's ready. ;) Enjoy the slower times, when he starts walking, he wont stop. LOL

  • Don't use walkers. They don't help children walk because they don't actually use the same muscles. Continue to let him walk around the table though...soon it will be more than that.

  • Yep, ditch the walker if it's the type he can sit in.
    Get him a toddler wagon...

Any type will do - some have built in toys, some look like shopping carts - but they get him moving away from the furniture. The wagon and shopping cart styles are useful long term for lots of different play options. The ones with built in toys get out-grown quicker.

  • Have you tried those little toys that are meant to be pushed around. I think they have one at walmart for like $10.. it looks like a rhino and they can push it and it picks up blocks. That is how my son learned how to walk. And he was a late learner. He started walking after his first birthday. he would cruise around furniture but not try walking. We got him that toy and a few days later he just took off walking on his own!

  • Every baby is different. Between 10-18 months is normally the age that babies start walking. He's furniture crawling now.. give him a few more months and he'll get it. That's how most babies start walking (furniture crawling). One day before you know it... he'll take his first steps... a little while after that he'll be walking like a pro, and not long after that... RUNNING. lol.

  • Sorry, but I don't understand. They walk, and then they run, and then you have to chase them.

  • We bought my son one of those push and ride toys and within 3 weeks he took his first steps and there was no stopping him after that. We also would hold his hands and walk around the house he loved seeing everything on a new level. Good luck it will happen!
