Lo-carb dieters

If you're on a low carb diet, did/do you get headaches?

  • I'm on week 2 of the South Beach diet. I had a BAD first day, but that's because my blood sugar dropped from 388 to 168 in one day (I'm diabetic). Since then it's gotten better every day. I think that the headaches are a result of the carb withdrawal our bodies go through; I'm on some meds that do the same thing to me when I cut back on the dosage. I do eat a small amount of healthy carbs like apples or yogurt. No breads, no potatoes, no pasta.

  • Rather than dieting, try moving your family towards a healthier way of eating. We eat 50% fruits and veggies, 25% whole grains and 25% protein.
