Clothes sizing

I was just wondering if 2T and 24 months were the same. Also if they make 1T that is the same as 12 months... just a little confused.

  • 2t is 3 inches longer and that is the only difference and no they do not make a 1T. If they do I have never seen it. But 24 months is 3 inches shorter and 2 t is longer so if you have a tall kid.

  • 2T is usually a bit longer than 24 months. I have never heard of a 1T though.

  • I agree, 2T is bigger and longer. I don't think they make a 1T.

  • I also remember that 24 mos usually had those snap strips in the legs and 2T was made more like adult clothes. I never saw 1T either.

  • There are certain stores that have 1T. I dont recall which ones though. I want to say A Children's PLace? Rare to come by, havent seen it alot. Weird to see it though. I think its just that brands 12 m though.

  • I think 2T might also be a little more narrow in the bottom for the underwear/diaper difference. At Target, the 24 mo. shirts are onesies (snap at crotch) and the 2Ts are t-shirts, I assume for this reason.

  • last time I checked (only one brand) the weight requriements were the same for both 24 months and 2t. Not sure about the height like the other posters and haven't used them yet. Was shopping for my cousin.

  • I was shopping at walmart yesterday and I didn't see any 2-T clothes at all. They went from 24m to 3-T. My DD is very hard to clothe. She wears a 2-T top and 18 month pants (in the waist) and 24month pants (in the length) I think the 24m and 2T are close but not exact
