What is the fruit that is supposed to ward off spiders?

I know I've seen at the supermarket before, but we never had a spider problem until this year. Anyone know what the fruit is called that is supposed to keep the critters away?

  • a fruit called an Osage Orange(also known as a Hedge Apple)that works absolutely wonders to keep spiders away. It is a green dimpled fruit a little larger than an apple that can be found in the produce isle of any grocery store. If you cut the Osage Orange in half and place it on a dish in the area that you have problems with spiders it will repel the spiders from that area. It repels many insects because it has the chemical tetrahydorxystilbene in it which is a natural repellant for insects (roaches, ants, crickets, fleas). Try it you will be surprised.
