What is a good age to switch your child from a highchair to a booster?

My son is 19 months old. He shows interest in wanting to sit in a regular chair (whether to color or have a snack or just sit). I think he wants to be like the rest of the family. Is he too young?

  • i dont think so my daughter was sitting in a regular chair at that age...try getting a booster seat so he will be at a normal level at the table, although my daughter never really liked her now she is 2 and she just sits on her knees. just keep a watchful eye on him at first :) hope that helps some

  • He should be fine. You want to make sure they are tall enough when they are seated in the booster.

  • The best time to actually introduce him to a booster seat is now. So that when he is actually 2 yrs old he will be willing to sit in one where ever you go.
