baby 11 weeks

my baby is 11 weeks now when can i start baby cereals?Is it still to early??

  • IMO no sooner then 6 mos. DEFINITELY not at 11 weeks. That's still a newborn! Their digestive systems can't handle it.

  • It should be around 4-6 months, but check witht he doc just to make sure.

  • General recommendations are 4-6 months. At 11 weeks, unless a pediatrician is telling you to give cereal for some reason, there is no reason to do it.

  • At 11 weeks, I doubt your baby has lost the tongue thrust reflex. It can't take food off a spoon and swallow properly. My son was able at 4 months, but, not all kids can then either. Besides, before 1, it is only for practice and most doctor recommend waiting to give food for as long as possible. Rely only on breast or formula for right now.
