  • Freshman 9th grade of 1st year of college. Sophmore 10th grade or 2nd year of college. Junior 11th grade or 3rd year of college. Senior 12th grade or 4th year of college. The college also depends on the number of credit hours you have earned.

  • high school doesn't start til 9th grade? most here start at 8th grade. we just have k-7 for elementary, and 8-12 for high. we have recently been transitioning to k-5 for elementary school, 6-8 for middle, and 9-12 for high school. is this how yours are set up?

  • My high school didn't start until 10th grade because some schools closed.

But I was still a Sophomore in 10th.

  • In the town i live in, just this year, we started having 4 different schools. There is k-3 at the elementray, 4-6 at the intermediate, 7-8 at the junior high, and 9-12 at the high school. Its a big pain in the butt if you ask me, and I would like to go to the way they do it over in England. Aren't the older schools geared toward specific areas of study?

  • The American system has elementary school running from grades K-5 or K-6. Middle school is 6-8, or your child might go to junior high from 7-9. High school is eithe 9-12 or 10-12. All depends on the school district.
