Should I call doctor about baby's umbilical cord?

My daughter was born April 2 (20 days ago). Her umbilical cord is still attached and shows no signs of being ready to fall off! My other children lost theirs early, so this is surprising to me! It is not red or infected or anything, it is just not coming off! I use alcohol twice a day when I remember (doctor said do it 4-6 times a day). Should I call the doctor about it or just wait it out?

  • Sometimes the alcohol stops the cord from falling off. I didn't use it at all on one of my boys and he lost it in 5 days.

  • My good friends daughters cord didnt fall off for 3 MONTHS! She just had to keep it clean to make sure it didnt get infected but otherwise, the doctor just told her to keep waiting.
