So what does the tooth fairy pay these days?

My 5 y/o has his first loose tooth and I have no idea the going rate. I asked him what the kids in his class are getting and the answer I get is "there is no such things as fairies" Raspberries to that! He still believes in Santa, he is going to get a visit from the tooth fairy!

  • $1/tooth, but make it losing 1st tooth certificate...sprinkle fairy dust around the bed and on the floor and really play it up!!! I just did this a about a month ago and he could have cared less about the cash because he was too excited about the fairy dust!!! oh, the innocence of children!!!

  • I'd say a buck a tooth is about right for the times. I always got a quarter :)

  • My mom always got my sisters and I a little gift, never money. She would slip a little pair of earings or a little locket. It would never be something I wanted but it always made me feel like the toothfairy knew me and knew what I would was always a surprise!

With my son, I do the same. Money is predictable - Pokemon cards or a Hotwheel is not!

  • We did the gifts too for the first tooth. Then went to 1 buck. One night though Vanna got lucky as Mr. Tooth fairy thought he left a buck but left her a $50.00!! She was beyond excited, couldn't stop laughing. Hubby on the otherhand was not as happy. LOL

  • My son just lost his first tooth, he got $5. My first son got $20 for his first tooth. Only because his nana snuck it in there.
