  • By waiting until they are old enough/ready to do so.

  • How old are they? What's the sleeping situation? Your bed, their bed? Do they have a routine?

My daughter is 11 months old and when she was about 6 months old, I just started putting her in her crib and she has pretty much been sleeping through the night since. My son who is 3.5 years old didn't sleep through the night until he was about 15 months old. I think some kids just don't start sleeping through the night until a year old or so.
