My kids snuck off with my crockpot base and lid while I was on the phone. They had some water and some stones they stuck in it and turned it on, without the actually crock in it, just put it in the base. It was not very warm, but it was a little warm when I got to it. How can I know, before I try to use it next time, if they ruined it or not? They only had it for maybe 5 minutes. But I don't want to put an all day meal in there and come home to find it is ruined and the food's not cooked or overcooked or something. Thanks for any suggestions.
