is it possible?

to get pregnant when you are not ovulating or not fertile? this may be a dumb question, but i was just wondering.

  • actually i dont think thats a stupid question for once in the pregnancy section!

    that i think is quite interesting because ive always heard you cant get pregnant during that time...but on my fiance's and my first time i got pregnant! and we're even shocked i got pregnant because there is something wrong with his sperm!

    i think its just if the sperm are willing to race each other to the egg during that sexual time ;)

  • You HAVE to ovulate to get pregnant. If you don't ovulate there is no egg to fertilize! Now if you are asking if you have sex at a supposed non-fertile time in your cycle can you get pregnant then the answer is yes kind of. The sperm can hang around for up to 5 days so if you have sex when you think you are not fertile and 5 days later you ovulate then there is a chance you could get pregnant.
