  • Training is the best way to teach a dog manners. If they can sit, put leads on them. When the company is coming over, tell them to let you know if possiable. Get your dogs to be in a calm state of mind. You will need to be able to say no bark or a distraction when they do not bark give rewards, and parise are the best thing to help. It will take several attemps, but repeat the excercise until they get the message. You can have someone help you ring the bell, knock on the door and repeat until they get the idea o what you want. good luck and happy training. Dogs can understand 200 words, by the way. Just gotta teach them!

  • best way to teach a dog not to bark is to teach it how to bark so you can tell the dog when to stop barking. what you do is get a treat keep it just out of reach of the dog and when it barks you say stop and use a hand signal at the same time. you put your hands together and then move them apart form each other as you say stop. sometimes it's hard to get them to bark. sometimes its not. so this technique may or not work. good luck. oh and when they do stop after you asking reward with that treat. repeat
