Has any one heard of childhood asthma being tied to household cleaners?

When I switched all of my cleaners to non-toxic green cleaners, my son's asthma/allergy symptoms went away. He no longer has to be medicated for it. Has anyone else has this experience?

  • Nope. Usually it is from allergies, dust, cats, dogs, pollen, secondhand smoke.

  • I have! I cut down and only clean when he's not around. I haven't switched out all of the bad chemicals but most of them. I decided to once when bleach made me have breathing issues and I don't even have asthma.

  • I have to be very careful with what I use. I have 4 asthmatics in my home. Dh is particularly sensitive to air fresheners. I generally don't use any spray on chemicals. And what I do use is green.
