  • Caffeine is known to case premature labor if it is used in excess during pregnancy. Also babies cannot tolerate caffeine as well as adults because their system is not as developed and accustomed to it as adults. That's why they say you should only have 8 oz a day if any at all. Soda is not good for anyone period because it is also loaded with sugar and can cause stomach and heart issues for those who drink it in large amounts.

  • Soda is bad for you anytime, so that goes for pregnancy even more. The caffeine itself is bad for the baby. Besides that, sodas are high in phosorous, which pulls calcium out of your bones, causing you to lose calcium. Taking a calcium supplement does not counteract this either.

  • plllth who cares? Drink what you want. You know its bad for you, just drink it in modertion. Like all bad foods/drinks, it won't hurt in moderation.

  • Soda is awful for your health and the caffeine part has already been mentioned but also dental health is extremely important in pregnancy if you develope gum disease while pregnant it can cause lots of problems including preterm birth. Sodas cause problems and weaken enamel in pregnacy bc they are so acidic and obviously the sugar content is outrageous. Also the sugar in it can cause insulin spikes and since a lot of women develop gestional diabetes and you don't get tested until later in the pregnancy it could land you in the hospital or in access in a coma. Sodas on average have around 25-30 grams of sugar in them! Why not just drink tea if you want caffeine its a low amount and you can go without the sugar and artificilar sweetners or you can do decaf tea!
