Can anyone tell me what type of plant this is, and how to not kill it?

  • Well, I asked DH but it didn't recognize it. He says it is a variegated indoor tropical plant, though...

    What about Song of India?

  • It's familiar, but I'm not entirely sure. I will ask DH when he gets up (he's a landscaper).
It looks tropical, so I would say to keep it moist and in partial sun for the time being.

  • Try googling "Variegated Crepe Ginger" and see if that's it. I have a feeling it will be a while before DH wakes up :P

  • This has more pictures of the plant: http://tinyurl.com/mysteryplant (root ball, stem, bud at the top) maybe that will help identify it. Variegated Cape Ginger looks somewhat similar, but not an exact match. It also has some similarities to a "Lemon Lime" plant.. But not an exact match.
