  • Mine is 33 months and just moved from her trike to her little bike - with training wheels - and both her gymnastics teacher and her ice skating teacher say she has extrememly well developed balance for her age. Considering that the developmental charts say that by 3, most kids will have finally mastered peddling a trike, I don't think you'll find any 1 or 2 year olds that can peddle, steer, and balance a two-wheeler without the help of training wheels.

  • My friends son had just turned 3 when he went to a two wheeler. He had NO problem at all! We are all floored by how well he did!

My kids... my DD was 5 when we took off the training wheels. My DS is almost 4 and we will probably take his training wheels off this summer, but he's not quite ready for two wheels right now.

  • I think my daughter had just turned 4 when she taught herself. We took off the wheels and she took off.

  • My oldest was 3 when she learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. My youngest is 4 and is still learning.
