How long does it take?

I just had our baby girl on the 17th. Her eyes are blue, but my other 2 kids have dark brown eyes. I am wondering how long it usually takes for them to change.
Just curious...

  • By the time the baby is 6 months old, she will have her permanent eye color. Congrats on your new baby!

  • I think it depends on the child and the color. My daughters eyes looked really brown, but more recently they started to look hazel and she is about 9 1/2 months.

  • My daughter was born with brilliant blue eyes. Thrilled her blue-eyed Daddy! LOL. They changed to green at about 6 months, which thrilled me and my brown eyes. Now, at 5, almost 6 years old, she has tri-colored eyes: they're brown around the outside, hazel in the middle, with a green ring in the center!

  • Thanks Jeremysmom. We are thrilled to have her.
Thanks for all your answers, I didn't want my husband to get his hopes up too much that they would stay blue, at least not just yet.
