  • Well, I would just go all out with the balloons in pinks, purples, shiney whites, etc. If you want to be green about it and are serving foods, do finger foods that people wouldn't have to use utensils for (like little hotdogs wrapped in cresent rolls, mini quiches, mini roll up sandwiches, do cupcakes instead of a big cake, etc). That way, you really only need small paper plates and those you can find made of recycled materials. You could also bring a recycle bin and put all the wrapping paper in it when you guys are done. if you want to do, like, goody bags or something, you can get little pots at a craft store super cheap and put little flowers (it's cheap to get a flat of a perennial) in them. Just remember to not go overboard...yes, it's her 1st birthday, but she'll never remember it! Make it fun and don't feel as though you need to break the bank!
