  • If there's no relief from nursing, it's probably not clogged, so it's likely infected (mastitis). I never had this. Anyone...?

  • Could be a plugged duct. Heat, massage, frequent nursing on the affected side and rest! There is a good FAQ at the La Leche League site: My breast hurts. What can I do?

  • I had mastitis and it sucks!
Go to your dr they will give you a prescription to take care of it. DON"T quit nursing, it helps pull out clog.

  • do you have any red spots on your breast? massaging the breast may help, also letting warm-hot water run over them. you could just have a clogged duct. just watch for infections and rough spots on your nipples. try asking a lactationist, maybe her ped., or even your primary care physician.

  • Massage the breast often and put on hot compresses a couple of times and hour. If you develop a fever, call your medical provider.

  • You definately have something going on. Mastitis can be confirmed if the breast is rock hard and even light feather brush hurts and pain feels hot also your nipple will be discolored or surrounding tissue. You can also google mastitis and go from there but I would call ob for apt tomorrow!!!! Best of luck, and 2 thumbs up for not quitting!!!!!
