How many days past ovulation should you test?

For the ttcers.. How many days after ovulation can you test and get a correct answer? Also how long does sperm stay alive? Hubby works outta town and is only here on the weekends. We've had sex twice this weekend and according to a ovulation calendar im supposed to ov tomorrow... also im on cycle day 14 and I've had some light pink spotting for two vdays that isn't normal for me.

  • First of all I have read anywhere from the first day of your missed period until a week late is the most ideal time to test. Some people will not get a positive the first day of the missed period and still could be pregnant. The sperm can stay alive anywhere from hours to about 5 days. Depends on what your cervical mucus is like right now. If you have the thick, egg white mucus, the sperm is more likely to stay alive longer then if you dont.

  • i think you should probably wait 14 days after your missed period..some women naturally have low hcg levels at the start so just to make sure test then.
