When can i switch to a toddler bed?

my dd is 9 months old but her (used) crib has recently become damaged. I was wondering do i have to buy another crib or can i get a toddler bed and put railing on it?

  • you can switch when ever you feel like it. you can get a toddler bed now if you want to. you can also get a crib that turns into a toddler bed so that you can still have a crib now if thats what your most comfortable with, which i would be for the sake of falling when they're awake and you aren't yet, and switch it in a few months. that way you arent wasting money. the crib that transfers will cost just as much as toddler bed usually, so no worries about that
oh and also, you can look on for the "big" city in your area and they will have things for baby for sale. i always see cribs on there and the convertable kind too!!!!!!!!!!

  • it may be easier and cheaper to just put a mattress on the floor. or get a playpen. just make sure her room is very baby proofed.

  • toddler bed with a railing should be fine, but also at walmart the sell nice wooden cribs that transfer in to a toddler bed, so you could use it as a crib for a while and then transfer it to toddler bed

  • i would get a crib that switches to the toddler bed. i switched my twins to toddler beds from cribs at about 30 months. it kept them safe and secure and i didn't have to worry if they woke before i did.
