My MIL says that a baby's normal temp should be in the upper 96 range, is this true?

If so then my baby girl has had a fever since the day she came home! Or do you think she is refering to the armpit temp which is lower then others?

  • Considering the 'average' body temperature is 98.6, then you are fine.
If taking the temp in the armpit you have to add .9 degrees.

  • I was always told that babies will have a temp around 99. They dont have a fever until up over 101.2 or something close to that. Call the nurses line and they will tell you for sure
