Have you ever done this?

Lied to your child about what time it is so you could put him bed earlier? It's been a very long weekend and I just really need a little quiet time to myself so, at 7 o'clock I lied to my son and told him was 8 (which is his usual bedtime. Has anyone else done it?

  • No, I am consistent on bedtime, which may vary. But am honest with him.

  • LOL, yes, I do it. On Christmas Eve I even set the clocks back an hour so that the oldest thinks it's later than it is too.

  • I must confess, I have done this. There are other times too when I say hey it's early bed night tonight and we all go to bed early.

  • That used to work for my son, but he's learned to read time, the hours at least. His usual bed time is 9, so even if its 859, he will tell you its not time yet.
