I fed her baby food for the first time....now what?

So my little girl has been doing so good on plain cereal, that I added 2 baby spoons full of applesauce to her cereal. So how long do I wait for a reaction to it, and what kind of reaction am I looking for?

  • Usually 3 days is plenty. Look for things like rash, that is the most common. With some of the fruits you may get lose stools. That doesn't mean she is allergic. It may just be a little much for her yet. Don't introduce a new food until you are sure she is okay with the last one. Never add more than one new food at once.
