  • I don't get my MIL anything for mother's day. We really don't get along that well. My husband will call her most likely but other than that she may get a card. She doesn't even get me a card. I have my own business that has candles, lotions, home decor and stuff like that which is always great. You could also find out if she really likes anything special or collects anything and you could get her that.

  • Send her a very nice photograph of your husband and child in a nice frame with a card saying "Thank you for making my husband and child possible."

  • Mothers day is a big deal in our family. We have brunch with about 20 people. Instead of gifts, we make a donation to Heiffer International; we feel that helping other mothers is a great way to honor ours.
