  • I live paycheck to paycheck so I don't EVER touch the money in the bank LOL. the only way I can save is tax refunds. I put it away and forget it is there as soon as I get it. Someday I will need a car or something big as a down payment or emergency...everything else I would work a second job to cover so I won't touch the savings.

  • We have money in the bank. Our house is paid off. No car loans, no credit card debt, etc. We have money for our kids college. We've been tight in the past but we've never lived paycheck to paycheck.

  • Yes and yes. We have money taken out of our checks for 401(k) and the savings account. We don't get to use the 401(k) and the savings is for small emergencies, vacations, and Christmas. By the time the paycheck comes, we need it because we try to stay away from the savings if possible. There's not much in there just a few thousand, but it is a comfort.
