Can I get some advice?

I am having a problem with this one neighbor over a trash can that has been abandoned on our street. The details aren't important but now every time she sees me she starts screaming profanities and calling my names. most of the time she is talking so fast I can't understand what she is saying. This happens every day, every time she sees me outside, even if I am in my own yard. Finally yesterday I called the police and they came out and talked to her. I don't know exactly what was said, but when the officer left they said there should be no problem. Now today she is right back at it again. What do I do?

  • all you can do is ignore her. When she realizes she isn't bothering you or getting a reaction she will stop. Believe me - I was in this situation earlier this year.

  • call them back and tell them you feel threatened. You might be able to get a restraining order that prohibits her from speaking to you?

  • Is that possible? She lives right next door.

  • She sounds like she as a mental health issue. Yes you need to call the police back out again. Then there will be an ongoing file on her behavior. I know I would feel uncomfortable even more so for my kids. People have got restraining orders for less. It doesn't matter where she lives. Do they own the home?

  • Yes, call again. Try to have her arrested for harassment. Than move.
