  • Unless a parent is smoking it with the child in the room, trying to get the child to smoke it, leaving it out and letting the child play with it, or so high that they are physically harming their child than it is in no way child abuse.

  • why would smoking marijuana be child abuse? Are they getting the kids high, getting stupid around them or neglecting them while high or something?
It wouldn't be child abuse unless it was effecting the kids. Why not just call the cops on them, it is illegal?

  • I don't know what it is catagorized as, but yes parents who do any illegal drugs can get in trouble for it. In school one of my friends and her siblings were taken away by CPS because her parents smoked weed. She said she never saw them do it in front of her and even testified to that in court, but the parents still lost custody. IMO it isn't worth it to get high when you have kids to care for.
It depends on your state laws, but I know here CPS has the ability to take away the children if the parents are involved in ANY illegal drugs.

  • Oh for crying out loud. Most of us wouldn't be here. Our parents smoked pot all the way through the 60's and 70's. MOST of them it made nicer to be around. If they are actually being abused or neglected then call. But it sounds like you have a difference of opinion of parenting and are taking vengence.
But to answer your question : Pot smoking can be considered: child neglect, child endangerment, and contributing to the delenquency of a minor.
Is it really, no, not in my opinion. But you go right ahead and ruin that family.

  • To echo what most pp's said, not unless they're blowing it in the kids' faces or trying to get them to smoke it... or if they're not taking care of their kids. But that's a separate issue. Alcohol does a hell of a lot worse to peoples' ability to care for their kids, and it's totally sanctioned in this culture. If there's a real issue with how they're treating their kids, then act on it. If not, leave them alone...

  • Why are you okay with pot smokers? Are you pot smokers too? You supporters are crazy. How can you accept smoking pot as a parent?

I would call the cops on them in a heart beat. Let them go to jail and figure it out the hard way that pot is illegal.

And no, I have never smoked pot or any other kind of drugs... I KNOW ITS AGAINST THE LAW!
