is there anything you can take to dry up breastmilk??

my sister is stopping breastfeeding her daughter is 19 months and is stopping cold turkey, her daughter is doing good with it, but my sisters boobs are hurting her really bad, shes getting achy all over her body and can barely move. shes doing the cabbage thing and puts ice packs on them and is taking advil for pain

but is there anything she can take to help the milk dry up quicker?

  • stopping cold turkey isn't the best way. she should pump a little bit every few hours and let her body adjust naturally.

  • tell her to definately not drink any alcohol while trying to stop..that'll just make it worse

  • Tell her to wear a really tight sports bra. That will help dry them up a lot quicker. Did that with all 3 of my boys.
