  • the formula he is on may be constipating for him. you can also talk to your ped. about adding fiber to his milk. i don't know how young you can give them benefiber or miralax but my son was on both for two years but he was a year old when he started on it. but i would take him to his doc. and let him examine him and see if he can give him some meds to help him go.

  • If he is EBF, then it's normal and safe for them to go up to 10 days without a BM. As long as it's not dry, hard or pellet like, it's not constipation. This also goes for FF, but I'm not sure on how many days it's safe for them to go without a BM. If the child is EBF, and the poop is normal, then no suppositories are needed, no juice is needed, no karo is needed, no prunes are needed.

  • if he's breastfed then i wouldn't worry about it. it's totally normal for breastfed babies to go even up to a week in between bowel movements.
if he's formula fed then i would consult his ped about it asap.

  • he is breast feeding no formula but he does also get a veggie in the mornin and rice cereal too so i think that is y he has trouble pooping. i have tried prunes n karo n now i do give him some apple juice in his cereal but that doesnt seem to help either. those were just some of the suggestions i got from the doctor

  • my dr said give him 2 oz prune juice with 2 oz water every day or every other day & it keeps him regular. i've done this since he was 3 weeks and had very hard painful poops. switching formulas wont help so dont waste ur time. call ur dr and ask if u want or make an appt if hes in pain

  • be careful with the supppositories, babies systems can get dependant on them, try oatmeal instead of rice cereal or brown rice cereal

  • Breastfed babies can go up to ten days without a bowel movement and be completely fine. It does NOT mean their constipated. If his poop is little hard balls then he's constipated.

Stop giving him the rice-cereal also, it's extremely constipating.
