would a pregnancy test be negtive or postive with a tubal pregnancy?

  • in the what to expect book, it says it CAN give a negayive test, but not all the time. my doc said that it will most likely be positive.

  • should still be positive, it would still produce the hormones of pregnancy.

  • Positive, but faint. Now if the hcg is too low to detect you could get false negative. So how can you determined to tell if you're pregnant!? The pain is usually on one side and torward inner thigh, almost unbearable(this is word of mouth, not personal experience!).

  • it can be both, since it is difficult for the embryo to thrive in teh fallopian tube the HCG hormone does not produce at a rate like with a uterine pregnancy. That decrease in HCG production can make it difficult to get a positive test result or easy to misread a positive result because your "yes" line so to speak is very faint. If you are more than two weeks overdue for a period but are getting a neg result consider making an ppointment with your doctor and having a blood test done which is much more sensitive to HCG and can confirm a pregnancy as well as if the embryo is progressing as it should
