When do you move a child into a bed from a crib?

My three year old still sleeps in his crib. He does not get out of the crib. It is toddler sized crib, but I don't know when it is best to move him over to a bed.

  • When you think he will stay, not be scared and won't fall out.

  • I don't think there is a "right" or "wrong" age. All kids are different. Have you talked to your son about it? Does he seem to like the idea of getting a "big boy bed" or does he want to stay in his crib for a while? Neither way is wrong, so discuss it with him and go from there.

  • Mine got pulled out of the crib at 6 months because she pulled herself out of it.
Kids who can climb are not safe in a crib. :P
