How big is an adult mosquito?

I googled it and couldn't find it. DH says they're really small, and I said they are half an inch to an inch big. We seen a few of them in our kitchen, and he said they were actually a type of flies, and I said they were mosquitos. They look like mosquitos, and I've never heard anyone else say they weren't mosquitos.

  • OP again. When I said a half inch to an inch, I meant wings and all. Not just their bodies.
