Home remedies to induce labor.....

Anyone know of any home remedies to induce labor that have actually worked?

  • It will happen when your body is ready. Castor oil, pineapple, sex, hot baths walking and all that can work ONLY IF YOUR BODY IS READY. THe only safe way is to let it happen on its own.

  • chamomile tea, spicy foods, sex, but none worked for me.

  • Do not drin castor oil, it will make you very sick, it's mineral oil.

  • Castor oil is very dangerous because it also goes into baby's system and can cause him/her to have meconium in the amniotic fluid............resulting in respiratory infections and even more serious complications after birth.
    Really, just sit back and relax. Baby will come when he or she is meant to.
    Oh, and as for sex.........it can help move things along , but it isn't the sex that does it.......it is the semen. Semen contains prostiglandin, which is what they use in the hospital to ripen the cervix before induction. But the PP was right........although it will help soften the cervix, it won't push you into labor unless you are ready to begin with. :)
