The goal is more for your kid to follow close to the same growth curve they have always been in. For example a child who has always weighted in the 18th percentile beguine to weigh in the 2nd percentile that is a concern because growth has stopped. However if a child has always been in the 18th percentile, it's ok, even though they are small because the growth is consistent.
Some signs that your child is not getting enough is dehydration, lack of energy, very few bowl movements, few wet diapers, and crankiness.
