When did you put your LO in a convertible car seat?? I am not talking about forward facing...but she;s getting close to the weight limit on the one we have and I wonder if I should just go ahead and get her the new one so she's more comfy...I wanna get her a really pretty Britax one...when did you switch?

  • If she's close to the weight limit on her infant seat, go ahead and switch. Just remember to leave it rear facing until she's at least 1 year old.

  • My daughter has ridden in a convertible seat every since she hit 6 pounds. She is now 15 months old, 21 pounds, and still rear facing in her britax carseat. She will be rear facing untill she reaches the weight limit.

  • 7 months even though he still (and still does) fit into an infant carrier. We just needed another carseat for the other car and it just made sense to get a convertible one.

  • I switched my oldest at five months when he hit the weight limit on his infant seat. My younger son, something broke on his car seat, so I got him a convertible instead of another infant seat, he was 4 months. This baby I'm planning on skipping the infant seat, and going with a convertible right from birth. My oldest outgrew his, and it doesn't expire until 2013, so I just have it sitting there anyways. And my kids seem to hit 20 pounds before 6 months, anyways.

  • He was about a year old when I bought a eddie bauer 3 in 1 convertible, then he outgrew it less than 6 months later. He will be two tomorrow and is rear facing in a truefit, we love it! However, if I had the money for a britax I probably would have bought one.

  • I turned my son around, front facing, when he outgrew EVERY rear-facing car seat on the market, and I didn't have the money to buy a convertible one. He was less than a year old, probably... 9-10 months. (I know, terrible mom! Not safe!)

  • We switched to a convertible (RF) at 5 months and will stay that way until 35 lbs when the seat requires FF.
