REAL vanilla? piog

Is it the same as pure vanilla extract? I have a couple of recipes from a diet site that call for REAL (and yes, it was in caps, so apparently important) vanilla. If its actually the bean or whatever, where would I get it?

  • If a recipe wants you to use the bean it will specify the bean. Apparently they want you to use 'real' vanilla as opposed to imitation vanilla.

  • pure vanilla is real... it will say imitation if it is not. :o)

  • Read the ingredients. And don't get the cheap stuff. Nielsen-Massey and other high end brands are so worth the extra money (and double as an awesome perfume).
