genetics

i was set on my future child having dimples because DH has them. we are using donor sperm... so i was wondering, my dad and some of my siblings have them but i don't...is it possible they can get them from my dad even though i dont have them...they are the cutest things ever and im hoping

  • Dimples are a dominant trait, so you got both recessive genes from your parents since you don't have them, therefore, you won't pass on dimples to your child :(
    Are you going to try to pick a donor sperm that looks like your husband? Try to find one with dimples!

  • they may have them or may not.
    i hope my daughters hair falls out and has blonde hair like me LOL but i will be fine if it stays brown like her daddys lol

  • you have to be comfortable with adopting.. maybe she doesnt want to.. its not right for HER..

  • it is possible those genes could skip a generation if dimples are caused by a recessive gene.

  • I have them and so does my 2 yo but my newborn dont :( oh well he is still just as cute! and i agree b4 u adopt u have to know its right for u...it isnt for me but lucky for me me and my husband can have kids so far we have 2 alive and 2 that didnt make it:(
