Obama said, "I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.”(regarding Tea Parties). So, will Obama accept this?

The National Leadership Team of the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition today accepted President Obama`s invitation β€œto have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.”

FIRST, I thought Gibbs said Obama wasn't aware of the Tea Parties? But he had no problem mentioning them?

NEXT, Will Obama accept, or do you think he will cowardly back peddle and belittle some Americans even more?

If Obama can take the time to fill out his NCAA brackets; listen to Earth, WInd, and Fire; meet with Jay Leno; and make an appearance on ESPN. Doesn't he have the time to meet with concerned American Voters? What's your opinion of this invitation?

  • For every townhall meeting Obama has done to push his stimulus, why can't he have one meeting to debate it?

  • Oh yes, that's ALL he's been doing this past 100 days right? Hanging out with Leno and watching ESPN. Whatever. He's been working his butt off. Bush got elected and spent his first 100 days in Crawford clearing brush. He was ABSENT from Washington until 9/11 when he realized he was actually going to have to work for a living.

ANWAY, yes I think Obama will have a conversation with these people, but I don't think he'll just implement their ideas blindly. He is a very cerebral person, I am sure if there is anything worth considering in their ideas he will take them into account.

  • If he meets with these people then he is validating their cause and complaint. This, he will not do.

I believe it will be the latter, it's more his style.  But it will only happen in a room full of his liberal supporters that will laugh on queue.  And the MSM will lap it up like little kittens with cream.

  • Good for him! OP do you understand that all kind of people belong to Tea party coalition. You seems do only think it is only about republicans.

  • I am pretty sure the OP realizes that. We have all acknowledged that, anon. I don't know what question you read, but I didn't see republican in the OQ at all.

Doesn't he have the time to meet with concerned American Voters?   (no mention of party there)

  • The tea party approval ratings are just over 50% so even if he hates them, he would be foolish not to take them up on their invitation.
