  • No. If you take firearms away then crooks still know how to get them. Illegal firearms trade/sell is a lucrative business and they do it without the government's consent now so if firearms are banned or "removed" I don't think it would stop. But it would increase the value of them on the black market.

  • I believe that guns in the hands of responsible citizens actually reduce the number of crimes. Criminals don't want to get shot. If they know the occupants of a certain home or the owners of a certain business are habitually armed, they will either go elsewhere to commit the crime, attempt the crime when no one is there to protect the place (and therefore no one gets hurt) or drop the idea of committing the crime. That's just KNOWING about a gun. How many times has a burgler or home invader been shot in the commission of a crime, resulting in the wounding or death of only one person--the robber, instead of a whole family of innocent persons? How many carjackings are avoided when the driver waved a gun at the would-be thief? Only people who already obey laws will obey more gun laws, criminals don't give a crap about ANY laws--including gun control laws.

  • No way. Felons will always have guns. Law abiding citizens's guns don't usually cause crimes.

  • No. You will still have murders, robberies, car theft, violent crimes etc. A gun isn't the only way you can commit a crime.

  • My husband is from England and guns are illegal there but there's still crime. The prisons are still full of criminals, so to think not having guns would help is a naive way to look at things... JMO

  • No. There may be less opportunity without guns but deffinetely not less crime. People will find a way to commit crimes no matter what you take away, its just apart of society and we have to learn to live with it and punish those who commit crimes.
