If you don't cloth diaper, please don't bother responding to this. I have a legitimate question, and would prefer to read legitimate answers rather than 50 "ewwww gross why do you cloth diaper, my disposable plastic nasty pants are just fine" posts.
I have been considering making my own washing detergent. I cloth diaper, and use a mix of bumgenius organics and goodmamas with thirsties covers. I am unclear on borax and cloth diapers. Any good, reliable information?
I am open to recipes for detergent that I can use on my cloth diapers and my clothes. Anything else I should know would be great.

I wash my BGs in homemade detergent. Have done so for over 17 months and they are still in mint looking condition :) This article might offer some help
