Is it about sacrificing your child or yourself?

How many of you go to church and the focus is on sacrifice of yourself or family? Is the message about dying or living? It seems these morbid questions are never asked at my house or church. We learn about Christians who did sacrifice their lives, but we are called more to live for God.

  • These questions aren't asked in your churches because the churches don't want to deal with tough questions like that..... If you think the story of Abraham and his son is perfectly acceptable behavior for a god, then you should be ok with God taking YOUR kid as a sacrifice. We're just trying to get you to think rationally about your beliefs. Those who say they would allow their child to be killed for their beliefs scare me. This means they'd be very easily brainwashed into doing just that!

  • metalcowgirl.... The story of Abraham was about trusting in the Lord. He didn't have Abraham kill Isaac... It was a test. And Abraham passed. And Isaac lived... which is what God had intended all along... =]
