I think my son might have an abnormal maxillary labial frenum, the thing between your gum and upper lip. I can't seem to find much information on it on the web. His goes all the way down to where his teeth come out of his gums. He is breastfed, I just want to know if I should be conserned.

  • My son has the same thing. It can be clipped by a dentist if it interferes with his perminent teeth.

The procdure is called a Frenectomy, and it is pretty common.

  • A girlfriend of mine had the same thing and she had it snipped by her dentist.
