Feeding advice

My son will be a month old on Wednesday. He is eating more but not at once. He normally eats 4 ozs at a time. But since last week he wants to eat more 4 ozs then 30 mins wants 3 more ozs. It seems like I am feeding him all the time. At night he does the same thing... Is there anything I can do to make him take 6 or 7 ozs at once???? HELP!!

  • i wouldn't force him to take anymore than he wants at one time, it might make him sick

  • Burp him more often, keep him awake and alert and feed him until he stops and is full. If you force it he will get an upset stomach and then will be up all night screaming. As for the night feedings feed him more often during the day and then his last 2 feedings make them bigger so he is fuller at bed time. He is only a month old so he should eat every 2 to 3 hours and he will slow down within the next month or so. Be patient as we all know it wont be like this for long and then you will miss the night feedings just to enjoy the sounds and smells of a new little baby. One day your child will be sleeping and doing things for himself and you will miss it. But feed him every 2 hours and then his last 2 feedings offer him 6 oz.

  • dont force your baby to eat! when he is full, he's full, when he's hungry, he's hungry. it could be a growth spurt too!
