How can I tell if I have a clogged milk duct??

I have pain in my left breast when my 9 month old nurses. It feels as if something is pulling on the inside. Very painful. I sometimes make him let go and try again. Most of the time it still hurts. Is it a clogged milk duct? If so how do I make it unclogg????

  • You can try Warm water ( running over your breast ) Is he finishing nursing on that side or have you stopped most of the time on that side cause of the pain? ) If it is a clogged milk duct you need to empty that breast by feeding or manually. If nothing else helps I'd call my doctor and just ask.
    Good luck been there.

  • Massage the area that hurts. I had a clogged milk duct in my armpit and I just put hot compresses on it and massaged it down.
