is it normal if my son only wants me?

He is a year old next week and he will fuss and fuss until he gets me. Daddy just won't do. Daddy is hurt because he thinks his son doesn't love him.

  • dad work, u stay home...? i am just guessing. i work and my hubby stays home, and sometimes when i get home, baby doesn't really seem to care, she still wants daddy. i just have to make an effort to spend LOTS of time with her when i'm off work, and on weekends.

  • How does he do when you're not in the room?

My daughter did this when she was very young... like, a month old, and I just left the house. Took a walk, went to the gym, even just sitting in my room. It helped me get a short break (I was never gone longer than an hour) and now she will take her daddy too. But my daughter is a very social baby and loves everyone. She even lets strangers hold her, so maybe this advice wont' work fo ryou.

    Sorry, I tried :(

  • Neither my husband nor I work. We are both here all the time.

  • Sounds like a phase. Many babies go through a phase like this one. Enjoy it while you can. Soon your child will start picking Daddy over Mommy. It's no offense, just Mommy=food right now.
