Does anyone know of any legitimate work at home jobs?

I'm a single mom and I commute to a full time job. I feel like I'm missing out on time with my kids. I drop them off at school in the morning but then they are left to come home to an empty house for 5 hours until I get home. I really dislike my job so by the time I do get home, I'm tired and stressed. Only to have to do it all over again the next day. I'm getting desperate to the point where I'm ready to quit my job without having something else lined up first.

  • Is your current job one that you could do from home, on either a part time or full time basis? Do you have a skill or experience that you can turn into a home-based business? I have a friend who makes hair accessories in her basement and sells them to boutiques all over the midwest. I have a homebased business doing freelance bookkeeping and business organization; I also do career and job coaching. Feel free to contact me for assistance with resumes, coverletters, job search strategy, etc. I am always happy to help fellow CafeMoms.

  • I started looking online for jobs I could do from home and found some great places.  I have made a list of places that I have used (only free ones), I know they're all legit because I don't list them until I've been paid by them. Nothing to lose by looking, it's free to get started. You can see my list and details on these places at http://www.freewebs.com/free2workathome/

  • I work from home selling wickless candles! This is a great product. It is safe for pets and children and all those with allergies. It is a great opportunity to connect with other mothers! These practically sell themselves. Please feel free to check out my website and either give me a call or email me, andI can answer any and all question you may have.

  • If looking for a JOB, what are your marketable skills and previous experiences? If you are looking for a BUSINESS, go with your passions, things that interest and motivate you the most. Build a list and use that to begin your search. General rule of thumb: Never pay for a job (businesses, on the other hand, usually involve some expenses).

The most common work at home JOBS pertain to customer service, administration, sales, tutoring, writing, consulting, healthcare, marketing, and technical support. There are also many legitimate home BUSINESS opportunities in direct sales, affiliate programs, and network/referral marketing.

Find a rep to contact, check out their websites, ask questions, do your own independent research. Check resources such as www.bbb.org for potential scams. I also have several resources for finding legitimate work from home opportunities in my "Working Mom Entrepreneurs" group here on Cafemom.
