  • They can if they feel as though you are being fraudulent in your case. The will investigate and they do have private eyes in the event they think your claim is bogus or your using them.

  • Oh yes it is sad but true...we actually had a neighbor run up to a guy in a car b/c he was watching was someone else but he thought it was for him.....I know that everyone doesn't deserve it, but there are so many idiots out there that fake injuries and stuff....that is why they do it.

  • Yes they can. I worked for a company a few years ago and that was my job to follow people who had questionable claims. About half the claims were bogus. One guy faked a back injury. We knew he was full of it but found a doctor who said he was legit. I followed him for three weeks and had tons of video of him doing yardwork, riding 4 wheelers, going water skiing and many other things. When he showed up for court he had his back brace on and looked pathetic. The videos made him look like a

They can and do watch people and if the person is lying you can go to jail. This guy went away for two years, lost his job, was blackballed in the industry and will have a hard time finding a good job. Any employer that does a back ground check will see this and probably won't want to hire him.

  • My brother was on workman's comp and they were going to court to settle. His lawyer told him to be careful what he did around his house and when he was out because people could very well be watching to catch him in an act that the doctors said that he shouldn't do. Which was a real pain for him because that meant he had to let all the outside work of the house go. He would mow the lawn and then not be able to move for the day or two but he at least felt like he was doing something for his family. But of course if he had done it the pictures would just be him mowing the lawn not his pain afterward.

  • yep, the sure will, it is their job to try to figure out how not to give you the money and benefits, lol the ... you notice all the banks and other institutions needed a bailout but not the insurance companies

  • Yes! From the other side of being a business owner and a private investigator people do watch you if you have filed a workers comp claim. The greatest fraud right now in this time is workers comp fraud! It is not about you it is about keeping companies in business. Companies pay workers comp insurance every month just to stay in business. These cost are very high. Then when a claim is made the prices go up higher and higher.

Companies go out of business because they can not afford to pay workers comp, liabilities insurance and taxes. One case of falling very minor can cost a company $60, 000 to $150,000 dollars just for medical expenses, loss of wages and attorney fees. Then you add on other areas & this bill goes up to $500,000 the person who fell gets a small amount but the dr.s, attorneys & other agencies get the bigger pay out!

An investigator is there for both sides to solve quickly not to make you look bad!
