Any ideas on how to save at disney world?? motel? food?

What are some ways you saved up to go on a trip with your children? Also, did you go through some sort of discount website to get your bookings cheaper then just doing it online? I am looking for ideas.

  • use any discount family package you can get. put so much away from each check and if the kids are old enough have them do odd job in the neighborhood to help pay as well.

  • Stay off site and eat off site. Some off site motels include breakfast, and shuttles to the parks. Have a limit on how much per day the children can spend on souvenirs. Have a wonderful time!

  • Yes staying off site is best. Big money saver try to stay somewhere where you having a least a fridge. Hitting up a supermarket and picking up some cereal, cold cuts, rolls, even snack for night time will save you a fortune on any vacation. Then just pack a cooler and leave it in the car. My husband and I first vaction together was to Myrtle Beach, we couldn't believe how much we spent eating out and medioker restuarants. For two shortstackes of pancakes, a coffee and an oj at some whole in the wall on the strp would be like 24.00 then you have tip.. We added it up we spent almost 400 dollars on food in 6 days and didn't even eat anywhere really nice!!!

  • The only thing i have to say is i JUST got back. I spent almost 7 grand, for two weeks. The food price in the parks is outragouse!!!!! And the food is not that great either. So i would eat before you get there. And leave around dinner time. Bring a cooler with ice and pack some food and drinks to leave in the car, so when you leave you can eat. Also buy the park tickets when you get there, Because even tho i found a good deal online the prices were better when i got there, but i already had mine. You can buy them anywhere down ther. Gs stations, gift shops.....ect. I stayed at the Masters Inn. Cheap. Real cheap. Its not that great, but all we did there was sleep. And it was good enough for that. Good luck, hope you have a blast. P.s. If your renting a car, look-up , 'OldTown', its like a carnival, with all kinds of things to do. My kids liked it better than anything else. There is soooo much more than just the parks in Orlando

  • Also....................
If you go to any store outside the parks, they have the same stuff, only wayyyyyy cheaper. The one i found was a BARGAIN store, that was the name of it.

  • well we had a ton of people with us so we found a grocery store nearby and got food for breakfast and lunch so we only had to buy dinner. It saved a ton because their food its so EXPENSIVE!

  • We stayed about 15 min. away and paid alot less for our hotel. For the La Quinta it was only around $79ish a nite, clean and it had breakfast. Boom, one meal down. Also it had a pool. When you call any hotel, dicker the price. Ask for the cheapest price or any discounts they can offer. When they say that's all they can do, press again and explain that you are price shopping but will be glad to make reserv. with a reasonable price.

Next, you can take a small soft sided cooler in the parks with you (Disney parks), along with bottle water or drinks, no glass. We took water bottles and took powder drink mixes to add. Also, we took sandwiches, chips, snacks and cookies in every day in two small coolers.

Everyone at Disney who's cool wears a backpack. :) We didn't buy any junk. We only ate one meal and that was at Epcot, and soo worth it. If your hotel has a fridge, that helps too. We ate out one meal a day.

  • Epcot is a really nice place and turned out to be our fav. Disney park. We ate the one meal there b/c of all the countries to choose from. Its pricey but not horrible, but then again, we saved our money by packing our lunches, eating breakfast at the hotel and eating dinner when we left the park. This gave us time to sit, relax and talk about our day before hitting the bed.

Take sunscreen. Don't buy junk there. If you have fam. that is military you can get $99 tix for 5 days, but the mil. pers. or spouse has to go. If you get a hotel close by you can be shuttled to the park, but they are on timed come and go. Parking is $12 a day.

You will get a "pin" when you pay for parking. Its a load of fun trading them with the disney workers. We ran all over the park looking for the neatest pins and trading. Ask them about this. :) The workers are happy to tell you how. We got my baby granddaughter a minnie pin. :)

  • You also have to factor in the cost of parking each day at the park. take advantage of the free dining offer during august and september. you save ton of money, get to stay on site and get free dining. For more info message me
